Gamcheon Culture Village Street Festival is an annual event organized entirely by the local residents, from the planning stage to the operation. Thanks to their efforts, the festival was selected as a promising festival of Busan. The festival offers a variety of new and exciting performances and cultural arts for visitors to enjoy. Gamcheon Culture Village was formed after the Korean war, when many refugees settled in the area, building houses one on top of the other. The area is now famous for its multi-colored roofs, maze-like streets, and the beautiful murals decorating the walls of each house.



Festival programs include an alley tour, hands-on experiences to get to know the joys and sorrows of the village's history, and explanations on over 40 cultural art pieces throughout the village. Wandering through the streets and alleys, you will get to know the hidden stories of the grandfathers and grandmothers living here. Small performances will take place on the rooftops above, adding a lively feel to this unique festival.

Chojeongyaksu Mineral Spring (초정약수) - Homepage : www.cheongju.go.kr - Tel : +82-43-201-2042 Located approximately 16 kilometers northeast of Cheongju City, Chojeongyaksu Mineral Spring is acknowledged as one of the three major mineral springs in the world. Chojeong Mineral Spring was discovered around 600 years ago and became nationally known ever since as the source of naturally carbonated water that has a piquant and cool taste. It is said that King Sejong (1397-1450, reign 1418-1450) visited the springs in 1444 and stayed here for 60 days to treat an eye infection. The daily yield of carbonated water here is 458 tons, which is used for producing natural soda drinks. There are presently two mineral water plant facilities in the area.
