Gangneung Gamja Ongsim has been serving gamja ongsim (potato ball soup) in Gangneung since the 1980s. Gamja ongsim is a local dish of Gangneung, made of grated potatoes mixed with starch powder and shaped into balls. The signature menu, Sungamja ongsim, is renowned for its chewy texture and the deep flavor of the soup. Gamja ongsimi kalguksu (potato ball noodle soup) is also popular.
