Elephant Rock in Ulleung-do Island was once connected to the island, but through years of wave erosion the rock was left alone in the middle of the ocean. Approximately 59 meters in x_height and 80 meters in length, there are various columnar joints throughout the rock. A 10 meter-high arch hole at the bottom of the rock looks like a trunk of an elephant, giving the name elephant rock.
