The Hampyeong Butterfly Festival held in April offers visitors the opportunity to get a closer look at ecology, in particular the region’s butterflies, flowers, and other insects. The complete process of becoming a butterfly from egg can be seen as well as an exhibition of nine thousand insects from around the world. A special event where butterflies in a bottle are released in a flower garden is something not to be missed. Various hands-on programs are also available at the festival.
